Rachel Mulroy

Environmental Justice/ Welfare Coordinator, Coalition for Social Justice

Rachel has been organizing for social justice in Southeastern Massachusetts since she began volunteering with the Coalition for Social Justice (CSJ) in 2011. A native of New Bedford, she is working for improved economic and environmental conditions for low-income and working class families in her city as well as in Fall River, Brockton, and Cape Cod. She sits on several statewide boards and steering committees on behalf of CSJ, including the Campaign to Lift the Cap on Kids, the Green Justice Coalition, the Alliance for a Healthy Tomorrow, and Mass Power Forward. Locally, she is working with the Coalition for Clean Air Southcoast and South Coast Neighbors United. Her work is driven by the fundamental links she observes between food sovereignty, economic security, and environmental justice. Rachel holds a B.S. in Anthropology with a concentration in Public Archaeology from Bridgewater State University.
